BED-AND-BREAKFAST –(bedAndBreakfast) - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Redirected from Bed-and-breakfast) -A bed and breakfast, often referred to as a B&B, is a type of boarding house typically operated out of a large single family residence where guests can be accommodated at night in private bedrooms (which may or may not be equipped with private baths) and where breakfast, sometimes continental and sometimes the full English variety, is served in the morning. In Ireland, most B&Bs serve a traditional Irish breakfast as a point of pride. The business may be operated either as a primary occupation or as a secondary source of income, and the staff often consists of the house's owner(s) and members of their family who live there. It is possible for guests to stay more than one night, but in some cases they will be expected to be away from the house during the main part of the day. This arrangement however is generally found to be convenient, for many of the more popular B&Bs are located in beach and mountain areas, such as Hawaii, and Colorado where daytime recreation and tourism activities are popular. One advantage of staying at a B&B is readier access to popular locations off the beaten path which may not be convenient to the city center.

BELIEVE - Paul VI was a friend and protégé of Pius; by temperament and training, Paul believes in the necessity of a strong papacy as the church’s defense against the threat of anarchy. Inevitably, he has been compared with his immediate predecessors, and not always favorably.
"Recent Popes have acted as if they were entitled to behave in an autocratic manner," says Leslie Dewart. "But it is an ancient tradition that the faith is the faith of a community." In his view, it is impossible today for the hierarchy to order what people should believe: "You can’t teach people by telling them what’s true." Callahan argues that the pronouncements of church authority do not exist outside and apart from the community. They are binding only insofar as the community accepts them as binding.
Added another, "I’m not a Catholic, but I believe this is my only chance to see an authentic saint." John Paul’s charisma exuded its warmth in the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick at St. George’s Cathedral later that afternoon. There, 4,000 ailing, disabled or dying parishioners watched in gratitude as the Pope personally administered the holy oil to many hands and foreheads of the seriously ill.
The Priesthood. Catholics believe a priest must be ordained by a bishop historically tied to bishops who are linked all the way back to Peter and the Apostles: the apostolic succession.

125.BOLETObancario
Hi there guys! I am an English teacher and I have been aked this questions over and over again: "teachher, how can we say boleto bancario?" Man believe me or not, but I have looked everywhere for boleto bancario, but without any success.

Does anyone know how to say that in Engllish? I would really appreciate it!

Love you all
Eddie
Re: BoletoBancario
Acho que a resposta é qualquer coisa como bank statement

http://www.finance-glossary.com/term...000&PopupMode=
Re: Boleto bancario
It's definitely not "bank statement" (basing my answer on the description of "boleto bancario" that I read in the English Only forum ). A bank statement is what you're mailed at the end of the month detailing the activity that has taken place in your account since the previous statement.
Re: Boleto bancario
Acho que bank draft vai dar. Veja a definição de draft no contexto bancário:
Quote:
A signed, unconditional written order prepared by one party who instructs another party to pay a specified sum to a third party. A documentary draft includes papers or documents attached. A sight draft is payable on demand. A time draft is payable either on a definite date or at a fixed time after sight or demand.
Re: Boleto bancario
Hi guys, Thanks to you all for your help.

There's is a website called www.answers.com which has helped me so much. You can find almost everything there related to English.

There goes the definition I've found for boleto bancario. By the way, it was a very difficult business term to find. But please, read the definition I've found at "answers.com" and tell me if it really defines what boleto bancario is for us Brazilians.

"a bank giro credit is a slip of paper similar to a cheque in layout which ensures payment is directed to the account of the payee[1]. Giro slips are often used to make payments to utility companies or other bills over the counter at the bank or post office. Payment is made by cash or cheque to the bank; the bank will stamp the bill or tearoff to confirm payment received; the bank forwards the giro slip to the payees account including the unique reference of the individual. The person paying the bill via giro payment doesn't need to have any kind of account with the bank; the clearing banks offer the service without charge."
